Server Maps

When ever I try to join a server that i dont have the maps do i have to dowload them.  but the next time around if i play the same map i have to redowload them.  Is there any way i can dowload the maps and put them in the folder.  I am running linux so its not easy to find the maps.

that's not how the engine is designed to work.

Is there any way i can dowload the maps and put them in the folder.

Options -> Allow Auto Download  YES

This will automatically download maps that you don't have on your computer.
Once downloaded, there is no need to download the same map again.

Seems like he's noticed it autodownloading the same map more than once. My guess is that he's actually downloading updates and so he doesn't actually need to do anything.

yes that is right, but the what ever im dowloading takes forever, im lucky if it takes 1 minute
