Well, yeah. Development on the original Tremulous slowed down for a while, until it just stopped. The thing is, a lot of the developers have moved on with their lives. Some of them are in graduate school, others are busy with real life issues, like stressful jobs or families. Five years ago, many of them were probably very enthusiastic, but enthusiasm doesn't last forever. This was a hobbyist project to them, something to do in their free time. They put a lot of work in, and even if they never reached 1.2, I still think they did a great job. The fact that members of the community have banded together to produce a fork of Tremulous, and ultimately a new game, should be seen as a testament to the hard work that Darklegion Development put into Tremulous over the years, not as something sad.
