Tremulous too dark
« on: April 29, 2012, 05:35:29 pm »
My problem seems to be in Windows 7 (x86), that the graphics start way too dark and cannot be set by options.  I have to drop to compatibility mode and run it within that and set parameters; which I really don't want to do.

Try /r_mapoverbrightbits 5 on console and /vid_restart.
Increase or decrease the number until you get the brightness you want.
Grab reality by the balls and squeeeeze!

Thanks Journeyman, it worked.  The brightness is quite unusual but better than before; at least it is now playable.

Lol. Doesn't work with my crt. It just shines in my eyes.
My best solution is to minimise trem, open trem, r_gamma 3. Done.

Thanks Virus, I will try that one also.  It seems that with the reset explained by Journeyman, it works; however, I need to do it each time, as it resets back to dark, regardless of what I put in the autoconfig.
