Sideway walking and shooting from back and side

Okay I have a bug a really weird annoying bug.

I was playing on AA on tremulous 1.1 and then I get this annoying bug.

humans are walking sideway and they shoot their bullets out of their back and side, but not out of their gun.

it makes me very hard to kill them

maybe someone has a fix for it?

Maybe you could provide reasons for your answers?  "WRONG" Isn't very descriptive and, frankly, doesn't add much the the discussion.

PPNL (who is a troll and a computer-virus-making criminal, btw) gave no usable information that i can salvage, except:

     
  • there is a fancy problem, and
  • the problem persists on some heavily modded server.

possible solutions are:

     
  • talk to the server owners about changing the behaviour, or
  • discover that you misinterpreted the situation.

I am just asking for a fix I see humans shooting bullets from their side and their backs, but not out of the gun, if someone has a fix please provide it here



and to Saliva: I want to play 1.2 but if the servers are empty I play 1.1 so please..

translation: yes, you have most likely misinterpreted the situation, thinking that bullets1 (or even missiles) physically come from some obscure source point, when in fact you only see missiles at SLIGHT(TM)ly different locations compared to how other players see (and i still don't know how you measure the source point for bullets).

i have a feeling that you've twiddled with some client-side settings WRONG(TM)ly, and forgot to revert the changes. start with default client/cgame settings, and port settings back to that in small chunks (to see which change causes the unwanted behaviour, if there is one).

huh?
if what you see is really because of a game logic programming error, then you should talk to the AA d00ds about the bug. also ask them if the bug is AA-specific.

could it be a side effect of lagged server + high ping?  i can think of a game or two that does not use unlagged that also have issues very similar in symptoms to this.

**I don't really see or pay attention to the partical system from instant projectiles from guns like rifles and chainguns...

I haven't used standard 1.1 client for years, and if i switch now, i will have to save a backup of my autogen as it overwrites it with the defaults. I suggest you get tremfusion from tremfusion.net if it is still up, there are other mirrors such as on xserverx.com and uhh... hmm... i dont know any other ones on sites that still exist.

This is just a graphical annoyance, so just ignore them and you'll get used to the gameplay. It took me a while to ignore my inner thoughts of calculating where the human will nudge to 300 ms after i pounce a human on US officals... often before they just 'dodge' with the knockback out of my reach when i land in front of them :/

Another thing to note is that the hit-damage system is different in 1.1 to gpp; walls are somewhat have higher priority over players and structures so you cannot do things like hit humans through cages or holes in a staircase or wall with a swipe. This also means you might not hit a human who is cornered on a wall if lets say the corner is on the left of you, you should aim slightly to the right.

I'm actually surprised you started playing 1.1. Most people who start on gpp never go back to the old system. In fact there are barely any popular vanilla gameplay servers with players on.
