How do you make a particle system

i want 2 make a particle system for smoke to rise out of a exaust pipe from my MFB (mobile field base) but i don't understand how it works. i've looked at tutorials with no such prevail

*note* hopfully this will help others later once it is answered

The only responses you'll get are people telling you to re-read the tutorials. I'm sure if someone were willing to tell you a step-by-step way to do it, they'd've already made a tutorial out of it.
Also, OT, is it just me, or did your post count go up by 30 in the past 12 hours? >:{!

thank you. i used a texture from atcs its called the forcefield grid and it has no transparentcy. why?

i copied the shader file and renamed it and everything to suit my map.
