Tremulous running slow. help

os type - 32 - bit
disk - 76.9 GB

i go to join a server and the game runs slow, most fps i get is 7-8 , but when im specin and outside the map the game runs semi smooth..
im also running on LINUX FEDORA 19 i believe

I had equivalent-ish hardware than that and it ran better.

I made trem run mainly off the virtual memory from the hard disk. It took about 3 minutes to load (sometimes timing out of the game before i finish loading the map) but when i'm in, it runs better then my current "better" computer in some places, especially unvanquished. Don't ask my why...

well you see i used windows before but i lost my disc for windows so i had to switch to linux and im newbie to this shit lol.....

Maybe your graphic settings are too high, but that's still weird...

What kind of internet connection do you have? Perhaps the issue is there. If the settings aren't suited for it, this could explain why the game seems fine as a spectator, but slower while playing.

like i had no trouble at all when i was running windows xp now that i switched over to linux the games starts to run slow.. no specs has changed since i cswitched over

Okay, so are the game's settings set up for the cable? That's what I meant.

Options > System > Net and Sound

Look for Net Data Rate.

hell if i know, i dont know what brand your card is or what distribution of linux you're running.

when you know those, use your favorite search engine to search "*card brand* *linux distro* non-free drivers"  where *card brand* is your graphics card manufacturer, and *linux distro* is, predictably enough, the distribution of linux you have installed.

you might prefix the search with "HOWTO" or attach "tutorial" to the end, if you want step by step directions.
