I need some help please to finish this map...

Hey everyone.

I am working on a revolutionary new map that is unique to all others before it.

I know modelling and textureing and animating.

But i am doing it in Autodesk Maya.

Is there anyone who can help me bring it into Tremulous (into Radiant or i dont know)

I can export to almost any format.

right i think u will have to use it as a model. so first of tell Autodesk Maya that all your skins are in ........ \tremulous\base\models\mapobjects\<Map>. create thos folders if u dont have them, put the textures in first before u tell maya  :wink:
then export the map in MD3 format. and make sure its saved in the foder i sed above.

now for the easy bit. open up g3k radiant or find some 1 who has it.
right click - misc - misc_model
then it will ask u to find the md3, find it in the folder i sed, then click open.
waHay! all done  :wink:

please note:
-1.4 radiant some times puts your model as an orange box so 1.5 would be better.
-if your model comes up with 'shader missing' then you have eather got the wrong file format (jpeg best) or the texture path is wrong. make sure texture and in that folder.

i made a chair for trem using milkshape and well i get it into GTKR its textured and everything. i play it in trem and its not there. i copied it into the pk3 and everything its a md3 file.

hmm.. u have to insure that u use the folders i sed above, and that when u make the .pk3 file that theres a folder called models\mapobjects\<Map> then for iteams make a new folder call it the iteam put the textures and the md3 file in there.
but if u have done that right, insure that u are clicking on bsp-build meta. because if u choise light or vis, its just updates the light or vis to ur map, not wats in it.

if thes all fails then del the chair and import it again  :wink:

word of advise, dont make the pk3 till u are goin to relese it, and use the gk3 radiant options to play map after complie. that only works if u del the pk3 or the clash with each other

i also have a problem with models "could not find path" or "Model is out of bounds" or something stupud

hmm havnt come across that one before.... try starting from the beggining, so have the folders ready, but the textures in there then tell the modeling program where the textures are, save md3 in that folder and try misc model again.

now i need help too lol, im not sure if its model based but it happen when i put them in. when i do the vis complie i get the Leaf with too many faces error, any ideas?

and when i compile there are warnings on textures i hav't used
its something like 'warning: GTK could not find shader file for textures/e6_walls/Evil6_concretewall05.jpg'

and this warning

'Gdk-WARNING **: gdkdrawable-win32.c:1568: BitBlt failed: The handle is invalid.'

textures are shrinking to weird perportions too.

 'no draw' and such shows up in the map

EDIT/ add

and one time during a save it came up in red. 'warning: parisite in map detected, dropping from save'

this happened the whole time so i shut down and restarted and it was gone.

if ur compiling with radian 1.4 then it will, its a mess up in the script, so i use 1.4 for making and 1.5 for compiling.

Export to .ase. Use spawnflags 2 on the misc_model.
