The problem with sig pics is that people make crappy animated gifs that are ~150KB each.  Mine is only 1468 bytes.

I suggest you use this greasemonkey script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/1079

(0o).. I'm on dialup and sig pictures cause almost no delay.. what the hell kind of connection do you have? It even only loads sigs for a person once in a thread... i can't see how this really could be problem... you just don't want to know who you were killed by I guess... I intend to start putting subliminal messages in my sig.. I guess you'll miss out.

Pie, dialup is here like 6kb max .) Count yourself lucky if you have more bandwidth.
Now think about those idiots with their 200kb sigs, even if it is shown only once, it extends the loading time quite a bit. And to me it just isn't worth waiting 30 or so seconds just to see a crappy sig-pic which usually just gives no relevant information.

Usually not :)
Most of the time I hang out where there are no such kids. And for controlling or troubleshooting a server 6kb is mor than enough.

the above mentioned scripts works pretty good. Anyways, i've always used adblock for that...and for the avatars. I couldn't care less about all those shiny funny pictures people show to show off...
