Wide angle view on non-widescreen display
« on: September 17, 2006, 02:35:39 pm »
Hi, I have a 5:4 monitor (1280x1024) and I would like to play with wide-angle view.
Of course It would mean that the viewport would not cover the whole screen (there would be those black stripes you see when watching a movie in divx for example). I mean the viewport could be eg. 1280x768 when the actual resolution is set to native 1280x1024. In result there would be a wider viewing angle (I could see more on the left and on the right as it is in the real world)

Is it possible? And how could I do that?

I would say: No. it is not possible.
But then again i am not the creator of the game and have no knowledge whatsoever about if it might be possible or not. :o  Or: Don't mind me, I don't know a thing  :o

Hmm. I know that it is possible to play on a widescreen (but I don't have one). So maby it could be done after configuring the display somehow

erm, just set the resolution you want in trem, then shrink the screen in OSD

that sounds like cheating to me. I don't think that should be allowed. I mean if you can do it I would like to do it as well but it still would not be fair to everyone else. If i get a wide enough monitor can i get a 360 degree view?

You could but you wouldnt be able to play effectivly due to the massive distortion.
I've always wanted to increse mu FOV but sadly it looks like Trem doesn't allow it.
All other games I play with 110 - 120.
This feels like 90 and is quite annoying and limiting (aside fron dretch, which is wider)
Yelling at team mates since 2006!
