Setting up trem mapping for your average n00b
« on: September 21, 2006, 07:03:23 am »
Im not much of an explainer but the stuff i did isn't for your avarage n00b and it reqires a bit of fiddling around to get it right but i did all the basic work for you.

this is for the average n00b

*i would like a self installer though*

download this .zip

q34trem.zip

follow the arrows

Inside is a decent version of winrar and the files needed to map

'extract' it and install 'winrar'

now go to

and delete everything inside

extract all the files that i gave you and copy base3 and GTKradient 1.4 and such and paste them into the folder where you just deleted some files (DO NOT REPLACE THEM)

the following would help

two types of winrar

now start GTKR and to map with trem select 'Quake III Arena'

Known fact:

Your first few maps WILL suck though the consept or idea would be great, trust us when we say it.

structures:
they have a bunch of lines around them forming a box this box cannot touch or inside it other than the model.

Textures: I'll upload collections of textures soon so people can find them easier

Sky01 is a Sky box set that i designed
skybox also known as env or enviroment
it consists of 6 pictures per skybox and one shader file how ever the shader file needs help
comming soon after someone fixes the shader file for me

(anything else anyone would like to add?)

Other:

go to your q3 folder (Quake III Arena) and open base3 then textures. create a folder called 'My Textures' and place all your texture in there

go into GTKR's directory and in the 'games' file look for 'Quake III Arena open it and and change the name to tremulous or other (trem?)

guess everyone agrees with you
but how do you get your own textures? Do you make it or something? All I can (could) find was "Tremor" and "Titan" (Titan didn't work)

People will post their own tutorials, not have you steal their work.
I’m busy. I’ll ignore you later.

1.5 sucks there are features in 1/4 that arn't in 1.5 and 'bsp'ing in 1.5 its hard to tell if its finished, the list goes on. if the have 1.6 out soon i will evaluate it for every one.
