i have no problem taking people on as a basi. its so much fun and literally is pure pwnage, except that you can get carried away and ignore the fact that you have no OM :P

so far i can deal with most stuff except:

Luci cannons, due to the fact that they can overcharge and get away/kill you

Flamers, as even when i get right around the back of an S2 hummie, some of the flame still gets me

and also, battle suits in general, (except the odd n00blet with a psaw or machine gun)



how do u take on battlesuits as a basi?

I usually sneak up alot.

I run if i have to, not smart lingering around with a basi, but if i see an easy escape nearby, if jump around alot and try to dodge at the same time as i try to get a grip on them.

sometimes, i have taken groups of 3-4 humans alone, with a basi.

keep moving around alot, if you are seen, and use the wallwalking for walljumps.

try constantly to make the human loose sight of you, run around corners and up in roof and so on, even if a human has seen you and know you are there somewhere, you can still sneak up on him, even if he has a helmet, but then you've gotta be real fast.. (the radar lags)

how do u take on battlesuits as a basi?

No problem with jetpack users? Weird.

And luci overcharge is great, but it takes sometimes too long to prepare and you die before or with the blast often. So, if you can sneak up on a battlesuitless luci user that isn't spaming ( ie, that isn't charging the luci ), you can often kill him before he has the time to react by doing only headshots. You will often die in the process though.

As far as I'm concerned, except for Pounce attack, headshots are ALWAYS the best option, no matter which alien against which human equipment :)

Get the head, thats the #1 rule. If you get the head, a bsuit will almost never see you, and in about 6 headshots, their down. Wallwalk down onto them.

yea...if u can pull that off...but the average person will just turn around, not see you, and freak out because an invisible basi is chomping away at their head :P basi is superfun, but they dont have much hp and are kinda slow so im not that great at them yet :oops:

Basilisks are good to use when humans are s2 and they rush your base.  Hide, wait for them to come near the base, jump out and hold them.  The tubes and swipes will waste many credits.   Just becareful of grenades.

Basi's aren't bad against psaws since their chomp actually has a little bit more range.

no the great thing about basi against psaw is that basi hold has a farther range than psaw :P just to taunt psaws i like to hold them from the front just out of their range, and then leg chomp them till they die :D

Well, there something you forgot : jetpack makes you nearly immune to the basi grab attack. When you are grabbed, toggle the jetpack on, run away from the basi ( usualy forward ;) ) and you'll get free of the grab effect.

I grab em from back then jump on head.When i see they re moving his/her rifle/gun to me i jump down and swipe his leg then when i see he move his rifle/gun i jump on head again and swipe swipe till dead:) rember im evul basi... :basilisk:

i think thats been fixed on most servers so that basi range isnt slighty more than the psaw. i remeber pong made a thread about it


i have no problem taking on most s2 humans ( when i say no problem i mean i can usually get quite close/kill them outright)


my alien of choice has been basi this week, and im not too bad. ( used to be crap)

so funny on arachnid 2. i like to go up the pipes on the right ( crate room) and go through the vents and drop down, go around the back of all the humans that stand there and wait for dretches to run at them down the corridor

so funny taking out groups of 3/4 with them either not realising or TK the player as they try to shoot me who is sat on thier head lol
