Stage Advancement Suggestion
« on: October 21, 2006, 08:15:37 am »
I think stage advancement should be cumulative. For example, Stage 2 would cost 4(per player) kills, as normal, but Stage 3 would cost twice as many kills, instead of being the same amount. I don't think there is enough time of being in Stage 2 for it to matter much. In a regular 1v1, I get Stage 2, then Stage 3 about 4-5 minutes later.

Stage two doesnt realy do much for aliens, imo.
Maybe a S4 would be nice.

Adv Tyrant - more health
Lucifer cannon upgraded - second clip

Now, this is some awesome balance

Aliens:
s1: has goons, which pretty much beat all s1 hummies unless they're good with shotties/chainguns
s2: has adv maras, which are good, but nothing compared to the flamer, prifle and helmet the hummies have
s3: tyrants and adv goons, basically the aliens' best stage. pretty much equal to s3 hummie upgrades

imo I think aliens should get something else at s2 to make it a stage that's worth something (right now, I only notice it when I'm a builder or when I specifically want to be adv mara), and hummies should have maybe slightly cheaper chainguns to combat goons.

Agree.

I reckon the best solution is to buff adv basalisk. Its kind of a wasted species. Got nothing realy.

Bump chaingun and dragoon to s2.
Bump flamethrower to s3.
Replace lucifer cannon with a RPG, which everyone uses it for anyways.
Replace basilisk gas with acid spitting (similar to acid tubes)

Adopt some or all of my ideas, or at least reflect on them.

Bump adv goon to stage 2???

More like bump Goon to stage 2 :o

Now, you do that and let me tell you aliens will never again say stage 2 is weak compared to humans.

that means you can only play as mara, bas, and dretch in S1...? A lot of people will argue with that :/

Yeah, and stage 1 humans have absolutly no protection against good goon players either. Not like you see us complain.

Oh wait! I do complain about that a lot :)

Hey, I've got an idea : let's switch the adv basi and the goon around. That way, maybe we'll see some use for the adv basi in the end.

Remove dretch ground headshots and make adv goons stage 2.

Edit: I'm basing this off how I remember gameplay before ground headshots were really popularized.

you kinda need ground headshots to stand a chance against players with good aim and low ping (*cough*unlagged*cough*).

Ok let's plan it out. Asva, you are nub, go sit on rets, I will build, you two go feed like hell, you go pwn their asses, and everyone else camp in the hallway, roger?
the dretch bites.
