Yes, Yes I know. I'm obsessed. But how about dretchs in S2/3 which can build a web to block a corridor. The web is invisible/ near invisible and only one can be built at a time. It acts like a trapper and slows the human down. It takes time to build.

Sorry.. but are you suggesting the basic unit be equiped with this?.. if so it would be horribly abused and make it almost impossible for humans to walk.. you can expect a whole bunch of suicide dretches webbing the entire map... if you mean 1 at a time including all dretches its useless, and if you mean 1 per player irregardless of death it just complicates things it would seem.. especially if that player has to decon their web with a dretch to build it somewhere else.... no.. no .. this isn't going to work at all.

He means that each player as a dretch can put out 1 web, built by standing still or being within 64 gameunits for a while i presume, which slows down any player walking through it for a while, regardless of team or class. No decon required. The only problem is when humans build a 1 doorway base. They're pretty much fucked then. It isn't fully thought out yet but it's more novel than most suggestions i've seen.

This will make the aliens way too overpowered.

However, if the webs were one-use (it can only trap one human and must be rebuilt to trap another) and the webs used alien build points then this might be useful. In other words, choose between one-use trappers or eggs and base defences.

Said like this it'd be a nice way to spend those 2 or 6 left over points you sometimes get. Make them cost 2 or 3 bp. They don't need to be expensive since they're one use anyway. It'd be a nice way to slow down lumberjack rushes.
It's what i miss mostly when building anyway. I hate to waste the left over bp and cheap single use structures are a nice fit for that.

When the structure gets used, does your point get returned?

An instant trapper that doesn't need to be on a wall or ceiling at any point on the map built by the most basic unit?

Does it need to be near an egg?
And do your build points get returned after the building is used????

please take into account the poor naked humans at this point of the game....

dretches in the right hands can still take on anything the humans can pump out in s3 (and deal decent damage/slow them down) ...

naked humans on the other hand get steamrolled by anything above 1 evolve point at this stage of the game because of booster and you want to make the only thing they can get cash from(besides a lucky camp tyrant kill) even more powerful?

Then you further want to make the most basic alien unit be able to place blocks for sneaking humans attacks (which btw is the most viable public strat for humans)...

Dretches are the meatshield for the alien team.... turrets are the meatshield for the human team... don't make them anything else.

Its true, as long as they don't luci spam their feet a dretch can take out or severly damage a bsuit.

The best is with a dretch and the 'omg i'm so leet with a painsaw' bsuits.

Human s3, Tesla Generators... A more powerful meatshield...
True, for the naked human it would suck, but then by s3 any naked human would probably be camping base unless their winning.
One of the first things that happens at s2 for human is Helmets so it might be hard to see, but it will always show up on radar, and im guessing it would be incredably weak & would proabably die  fast if attacked by a Flamer or PR.
This idea sounds to me like a baracade's creep thats really weak & hard to see by eye.
I don't know how it would work coming from a dretch if it uses bps tho. If it was like the Adv. Goon's barb, but a single shot that took a long while to regenerate, and only lasted a few seconds doing no damage on its own...
Either way, it probably won't happen anytime soon if at all [ - Doubt ] but it would be fun to mess around with.  8)
