I need help

I don't know how to get new maps I get bored playing old maps over and over over. tell me were I can get new maps (like pulse) and ACTUALLY PLAY THEM. I have a mac so if that prevents anything let me know.

i'll bet your playing out of the disc image. :eek:


you need to copy it to somewhere on your hard drive (the files in the .dmg, not the .dmg itself). as long as you have write priviledges, you should be able to put the maps in the base folder in your trem folder that is NOT in the .dmg

you may need to rename a few of the .pk3 s; just to review, they should be in the format of

Code Select Expand

map-XXXXXXXXX.pk3 where XXXXXXXXX is the map name as given by the maker and/or download

how do you get to your tremulous app through the finder?

drag the application for tremulous into the reply window

if you dont know where it is, either do a search, or if it is in your dock control-click it and select show in finder

the line that will appear is the path to the application: LEAVE IT THERE; DO NOT CHANGE IT
hit return and then add any comments you may have

in case u didnt kno, .pk3 s are just renamed .zip s
trem uses .pk3 s

while that is not the application, it should be the map file for pulse, but i cant be sure because i dont kno what is inside it

It did say it was "map pulse zip" on my desktop so i did do what you said to my perspective so tell me simpler because its what it said

first, what is the path to ur tremulous application?
u started this thread because u couldnt add maps


if u unzip that download, what is inside?
if there are a bunch of folders such as "maps" and "scripts", select the .zip and hit command-I and rename it there, just changing the .zip to .pk3
it should ask if u r sure, so u should hit the button saying to use ".pk3"

when I try to open it it says "unarchiving" map--pulse=beta3.zip"
and im going to leav it like that for today to see what happens |:-(

for 7 hours it didn't do a thing so i don't know what is inside there is a short cut for me on my desktop

how old?

it should unarchive perfectly into a folder of the same name without the .zip
