This thread is awesome(Thorn and Techhead FTW)..

Its nice to be able to find out things like the dretchpack are going to be in trem 2.
Its also nice when the reply is helpful and not simple "go look at the SVN" because most games etc don't make you go look at the SVN to figure out what to look for in features for the next version.

And the dretch already has a luci, you just have to know how to use it

Firstly Tremulous 2.0 will only come out after 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, and 1.9 (Barring a massive breakthrough in computer programing technology).



Adv tyrant = mabey in the very distant future, mabey.

Reactor Gun = No.

New maps = Yes.

More Structures = mabey (I think I heard an idea mentioned for human buildable boxes to place things on) Mostly though it will be tweaks to existing buildings.

Less Lag = 99% chance of happening.

not quite. the next release would be called 1.2.0, and the one after that 1.3.0, but the one after 1.9.0 is 1.10.0, a version called 2.0 would have received a major rewrite, instead of just updates to the code.

Depends on the code changes between the decimal points. If they code anough for there to be a 1.9.0 then after that it would warrant a 2.0 as the code would be different enough.

2.0 doesn't require a major rewrite of everything, it just needs to be a different enough, if that makes sense.

Well... So long as the devs don't "do a Nexuiz" whereby 1.3 is announced but 1.5 is released then 1.6 is announced but 2.0 is released.

...and so long as they don't "do a Linux" with the version numbering where some maps only work with trem-1.5.23.3-tjw1-tremx2.3 and others need the latest trem1.5.24.4-mm2-git3-pure2 to be built from source
