YK@ Dark Lair server up + question
« on: November 13, 2006, 05:49:01 pm »
Hi,

I finally got a server for my clan. It have 12(+2) slots. Anyone can become an admin, as long as thay are responsible and, of course have a guid  :wink:
I also wanted to ask, because i want to make the server perfect (:P), i want to put some extra patches to it.
I have only found aliens wrath patches. Now, i have applied them to the newest svn (some didnt work), but there isnt a patch to fix some bugs that are fixed in tjw compiled files. Also, !designate command is not there. Where can i get the patches for it?
Also, i know that there is a new command in kocour server, which allows players to share evos/money. Is it possible to get that?

KOCOUR-CZ patchset (TJW updated for latest SVN included) and precompiled game.qvm binary is available at http://kocour.veprov.cz/download at the bottom of the page. Anyway, wait a while, SVN839 should be there very soon. Lots of experimental patches for vanilla SVN are also available at Tremulous Bugzilla, including credit share, designated builder etc.

i'm pretty sure all of tjw's bugfixes are in svn now.
edit: forgot to mention, applying tjw's patch to latest svn will be a royal pain in the neck, the only easy things to do are to apply the patch to old svn, or to not apply the patch until he releases a new version (soon(tm))

$ cd tremulous/trunk
$ patch -p0 <wherever/the/patch/is/kocour.patch

Patch won't find the files if you don't give it the -pnum parameter.

The current KOCOUR-CZ (uploaded today) applies cleanly against SVN839 and you could get it working with SVN840 with a little effort (2 lines from the patch are in SVN840 already). However, I don't recommend using it with earlier SVN revisions because some important features have been moved from the patch to SVN.

The patch is made from trunk/ directory and contains src/game/ and src/server/ changes. Running patch with -p1 option would work from trunk/src but -p2 won't work. You'd have to be in both trunk/src/game and trunk/src/server directories at the same time.

kaszak (YK@ member) made aliens wratch patches and kocour patches work together on svn 827 by changing some stuff, its like super pre-alpha unstable, but most things work  :D . Gonna work on it more, maybe will get all of the patches to work properly.
