And here is the prototype they made in 2006

http://www.newlaunches.com/archives/samsung_develops_machine_gun_sentry_robot_costs_200k.php

The video is lame/funny with the soldiers acting like morons and the background music from Pirates of the Carribeans yet this is a real weapon. Kinda frightening...

Except that those look much cooler.

Is it just me, or did the theme music from Pirates of the Caribbean start playing halfway through that?
Stop it. Seriously.

If some robot was shooting at you with live ammo for a demo movie with that music blasting out of nowhere and you somehow found yourself in the korean army.. you'd act like a moron too!

Samsung has absolutely no idea what they are doing.

That turret looks too tall and uncomfortable to sit on.

It doesn't have the buttplug adaptor in the video.

What i meant is, the guys where moving only to show "look this stuff works" and not like real soldiers would move on the battlefield. They all walk gently and slowly in open or neally open space, rather than crawling in place where they can find some cover

Clearly, cos its just a demonstration of the tracking system, not a live scenario excercise.

Or perhaps Microsoft will get into the defence business, and give use suits to be used by our troops in battle, and they will be known as "battle suits."

Goddamnit, reality better stop stealing from Tremulous, I don't care if it's open source.
