[The contest is over, thanks for voting!][New information concerning the ModDB Contest!]
Looks like the phase 1 nominations are done. Tremulous and 4 other standalone games made it into the top 100. 3 of those mods are unreleased and I see no problems with them. The other mod is 'Warsow' a deathmatch type game that is fairly popular.
The voting ends on January 1st, and I'm fairly certain you need a moddb account for the votes to count. So, if you want me to release those pretty maps I showed in the promo vid... or want me to get a new computer for belated christmas please register and vote for Tremulous!
Also note that you are allowed three votes, so feel free to vote for two other mods, but if you vote for other standalone games as well as Tremulous, we won't have quite as good a chance of winning.
[Old info down below]Hello.
Mod DB has a nifty little contest every year where people vote for their favorite mods. One of the categories this year is "Standalone Game of the Year" which I think we have a shot at.
So here's the deal: The prize is some alienware computer and $1000 and I want it (yeah it'll get split up between the devs somehow)
Instructions:
FIRST:
YOU HAVE TO REGISTER WITH MODDB. You can still vote without doing so, but it only will count in the case of a tie... which is lame. Lame lame lame.
SECOND: VOTE.
THIRD: PROFIT FOR ME.

http://mods.moddb.com/3449/tremulous/"But OverFlow," you may ask, "what's in it for me?!" Well I'm glad you ask. Nothing really. But I'll make a nice promise for you. If we win, I'll have a new map done (which is pretty much done) a new human model finished (which is pretty close to done) first person weapon animations completed (which are pretty not close to done) and I'll prod Timbo a bunch about the new patch. All of this before you can say an extremely long and hard to say word.
Pretty sweet deal, huh?
