need help with new maps NOT on tremulous.info
« on: November 17, 2006, 01:08:40 am »
I used http://tremulous.bricosoft.com/base/ to download the Highrise map, but instead of getting a folder of the map with a .pk3 in it, i got somethign very different. I got 4 folders labeled levelshots, maps, scripts, and sound. there was also a text document. The map inside the maps folder was a .bsp though. I tried putting it in the base folder like all the other maps, but it still won't work. Can someone please help me?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong spot for this.

you have a browser that decided to unzip the file, your choices are to get a better browser(recommended), download tjw's backport client that supports http downloads (also recommended), or zip up the 4 folders exactly as you found them, then rename the .zip to .pk3.

what you got is an unpacked .pk3  --  you need to zip it, rename it from *.zip to *.pk3 , then put it in base.

EDIT: darn, someone beat me to it

actually, i had extracted it. it was originally all zipped. do you mean i actually did't have to unzip all those maps i downloaded? so i just put the zipped file into my base folder?

wait...how do I rename a .zip to a .pk3?

No! Don't do that since there is little chance you'll get a pk3 that passes the pure check that way.

I think the best thing is to ditch crappy browser from hell that is Internet Exploder and use a proper browser instead.
