I'm new to hole tremulous so i don't know if this is known bug or new.Tryed to search forums for this but din't find anything :< people on irc were clueless too.
I have a logitech g5 and my friend has mx510 and they both have the same problem with logtech drivers and after they were removed.game worked perfectly with microsoft's mouse.

Problem:if 1st bullet hits the alien.The gun goes to some sort of autofire and doesnt stop shooting untill mouse1 is pressed again.extremely annoying imo.
Any fix that wouldn't require a change of mouse :x?

Plug your mouse as an USB mouse and never bother again with any kind of mouse driver. Just use the stock USB mouse driver in windows XP.

Yeah i had that same problem with my Logitech mouse too (Wireless).
It's because of Logitech drivers that are using lame keylogger application to catch special buttons and execute them (<- or to spy  :-?). Easy way to fix this is uninstalling Logitech drivers and plugging the mouse to standard PS/2 port (if possible, USB works too but just DO NOT install logitech driver). Only loss with this is that special keys won't work (some of them does but not all).

umm maybe i didn't make it clear in the 1st message but the problem continues even after uninstalling the logitech drivers.  :(

You can't uninstall the damn driver, you can only uninstall the Software that comes with it. So you have to remove that driver either by hand or use a 3rd party tool to get rid of it.

FWIW-

I run the MX510 with Logi's "damn" driver and software and have never had a problem.  I really like having 8 programmable buttons.  I do run it through the mouse port with a converter.

I don't know what the answer is for your situation, but it is not a universal problem.

You will need to install basic mouse driver from Windows cd over it, cant remember how to but there's a way to get rid of that driver

Well then it's getting weird. I guess you are either running faster/dual-core than we are, or running some fixed version of Logitech drivers

David - I have run several different flavors of Linux on some on my machines and as I remember, they only supported the standard three mouse buttons, not the eight buttons that an MX510 comes with.

Which Linux are you running that supports 8 mouse buttons?

Mandriva 2006 supports all eight buttons, but only SDL games really make use of them. I had to tweak the xorg config file to use the "generic USB mouse driver" ( evdev ) for that though.

I would guess any distro using a kernel from that century and xorg 7.0 at least should be OK.

Well i'm on laptop and with xp.
Removed logitech drivers with some driver cleaner program and then windows installed some microsoft drivers to it.Problem still occurs  D:

I think i just use my 2nd mouse with tremu :x

Linux supports devices very well after little googling (Mostly it does support everything after installition.. atleast is should) so dont be so aware of it and test Linux with some live-cd/dvd, like ubuntu: http://www.ubuntulinux.com. Just to remind: Normal ubuntu installition CD boots as live CD, just choose "Start or install Ubuntu" in main menu
