[ WinXP ][ Problem ] First try : bad resolution 1600*1024
« on: November 19, 2006, 10:49:41 pm »
Hello,
sorry to bother you all, but I wanted to give Tremulous a try. But somehow, when I execute the game, it starts in a extrême low res with the menu on the left of the screen. Well, out of the visible space in fact.
Then, i said to myself "well, no prob, lets try with a low res in windows, maybe thats the problem" aaand nothing changed

So in fact, i couldnt even try the game or so, juste because i couldn't get to the "option" or "configuration" menu. Is there any way (some flag to give the exe for example) to higher the res at launch? (i checked the FAQ but didnt find anything about this problem, am I the only one to encounter it?)

hum, i see now in the autogen.cfg file that there is
Quote
seta r_customwidth "1600"
seta r_customheight "1024"

i guess its the source of the problem my screen being only able to do 1280*1024
ben changing the content of this file doesnt help of course, so anyone got an idea?

Config :
Winxp sp2
GF 5750

Those commands shouldn't do anything unless you also add:
seta r_mode "-1"

You can also find the options menu if you press esc while in-game.  (Either online or your own game)

yep probably but i cant even reach a game because of this problem
isnt there any way to determine the resolution out of the game or to force while by giving parameters to the exe while starting?

ps: ill try to use

seta r_mode "-1"
instead of
Quote
seta r_mode "3"
