Gossip: Ban Rapha on db servers?

Hi all,

just wanted to say... if either Koorni or Gryf come by showing off a screenshot with me deconning a reactor: I got a demo of me deconning a reactor (unfortunately only deconning it the second time, not the first) AND them TKing me like 10 or so times in a row, standing directly at the spawn with painsaws.

I'd like to respectfully request not to be banned because of what initially was a builder war only (what they called "Lava style turrets" blocking access to the armory w/o stamina vs. moving the medi in front of the armory and placing the turrets left and right of that).

P.S.: What does make me angry a bit is that Gryf continued his TKing in the next game (I believe the map was Tremor, although I have no demo or screenshots to prove it). I had tried to forget the previous game there and just play a normal, conservative round.

Bans as i understand are never done on player recommendations. You can warn the admins and they'll look out for the player next time but noone is banned if no authoritave figure has seen any actions.

This is unrelated: while I don't mind "gossip" that much (its mostly stuff about deconners, admin abuse, bans, cheating etc. that might have to be talked about or will fail to be resolved) The general discussion (henceforth GD) area has been quite simply a mess. It gets loads of topics all over the place.

Anyway, I just wish that GD could be broken down a little, into stuff like this "gossip" or more usefully, "Concerns". "Events", such as maps on a certain server, "Technical" for well, technical stuff, "Entertainment" for stuff like webcomics, whos your fav. player, etc., and of course some kind of "Other", since it is General Discussion.

This isn't really a guideline of request, more like me just feeling like I had to throw the idea out there. I'm aware it wont happen, but I had to say it somewhere, and didn't feel like making an entirely new useless thread about it.

I wish. But at the same time, I realize that the devs don't make money off of Tremulous so having craploads of pictures uploaded/linked is not a priority. I'd much rather have the game for free.

The hosting is provided by sourceforge, and offsite of course doesn't have any impact of bandwidth.  I think it's a matter of prefence instead of not having the time... i prefer it this way.

Avatars are nice, but it seems to get out of hand in gamer communities  :eek:

Avatars get out of hand because of allowing people to upload their own avatars.
Gather some ps-capable people, set some clear rules, give them iconizing duty, someone to do the final assignment and all is well but the moment you open up the system to user customization the quality level drops and the pleasantness associated with reading such a nice and clean board evaporates.
That's why I like no avatars better than bad ones.
