Here are some RADICAL Ideas...Please let me know your views:

- Controlled or Automatic Large Robots that Builders can let loose on invading Alien monsters. They would attack the creatures either "bare"- handed or with the same kind of weapons the humans have.

- Controlled or Automatic Nanobots that Builders can let loose on invading Alien monsters. They can swarm on the creatures the same way the Wasp Aliens do.

- There should be other kinds of Vehicles that the humans can have access to or at least build...

Miniture Dune Buggy

Levitating Vespa/Scooter/Cycle

Teleporter Discs like in Star Trek or more recently, in Stargate SG-1

- Temporary invincibility, perhaps in a personal force field!
- Ah! Force Field Generators, that can be attacked.
- Giant Laser Gun that a human can sit in, sit in a chair and look through target visor/computer monitor.


I hope you guys like at least some of these ideas...

A player controlled turret for aliens could be a big acid blob cannon, that can fire far, or a trapper version.

How about an alien controlled turret that shoots spikes!
Even faster than dragoon barbs, still not hitscan, around 30 damage, unlimited ammo.

Teleporters can be built into maps, and several maps already have them.

That balance mod even turns telenodes into teleporters.

Robot Ninjas for humans.

Builders have to craft the cybernetics on to players by deconning a Turret and weilding it on.  Repeaters should charge them up

or how about a turret building you get on and shoot aliens invading? It will be good for defending with people who have no money

and for aliens, there could be a cannon like this (reference to the map dretchcanon) where you go on the cannon, aim, and fire and you go straight to the enemy and ambush them

Humans camp too much already. This will encourage more camping.

If you code/model them then people might use them. I don't know how well vehicles would affect the game play in the current maps that were not designed for them. BESIDES, THERE'S ONLY ONE MODE OF TRANSPORT FOR TREMULOUS AND THAT'S PONIES!!!1!

Teleporters are more a map thing. There's no reason why you can't make one that looks like a stargate-style disc. Noclip your way through the broken wall behind the human base on Hamunaptra to see what I mean.

Hmm, already been suggested, but perhaps a buyable that reduces your visibility (but doesn't make you disappear on alien radar) could work.

Your ideas sound fun, but I doubt they'd get into mainstream tremulous, feel free to make a mod though.

I was saying that if we had human turrets, then we should have alien ones.
Then again, we shouldn't have human turrets.

I believe that vehicles and/or active camo might be the most prommising ideas.
If you can program, make a second light armor called "active camo"
that offers little or no protection but makes you almost invisible, with either around 75% transparent or a cool ripple effect.
Leave the smoke trails and blaring noise from the jet-pack, if you are silly enough to use it.
Leave the alien radar blips.

do we need vehicles? NO
Do we need driving insanely around shooting if half the ppl cant run around and shoot properly? NO
Do we need another ET clone? NO
Do we need another BF2 clone? NO

No invisible humans, the devs told that since this game reached internets!

Alien turrets? WHY THE... ah forget it, i dont even bother to reply to that.

I'm gonna attempt to steal this thread real quick.

How about a proximity alert for aliens.
Everytime a human comes near the eggs, all aliens get an egg alert.
Maybe make a similar thing for humans as well (side from the base is under attack or OM is under attack).

While this is not needed in larger games, anything smaller then 5v5 would require this since you can't afford to have an alien sitting in base defending.

This would serve as an early warning system for a psaw'er going thru your base killing eggs without you knowing it.
It would NOT stop the Psaw but at least one would know that something is going on before the annoying "OM needs spawns" message.
Also, make is so that one can disable the warning system cliens-side so when playing larger games, there is no aditional annoying alert.
