Im working on a map and have the .def file etc, ive created a map (raw bsp, not pk3) but i cannot play it, when ever i start the map(after entering "sv_pure 0")humans win befor im even able to choose a team, in other words the map loads and then the game ends. any one know a way to fix this?

Did you add spawns for both teams?

yes there are spawns (with in reach of reactors/overmods)
ent count:
human spawns: 4
reactor: 1
Alien spawns: 4
Overminds: 1
mg turret: 4
acid tubes: 2
barricades: 1
also i have an update, i removed some ents and now i have a new error: "error no spawns found". but i know i have them in the compiled bsp

Are you sure you did not mistype the classname of the spawns?

Eek, I just recompiled Transit and I get the aliens win thing too.

Fixed it.

My spawns where in the ground. Might want to move up all your spawns a few units

alright

fixed spawns/possible clipping. now the map loads :D (thanx stannum).
im still working on lighting/texturing and in a few places im working on the geometry.

On another note:
im wondering if its possible to have water/liquids, since i tried it and had an odd effect with rendering/blurring. also asking because ive noticed that there isnt any water (water that comes up to your knees etc) in the current maps

im not sure when im going to be done on thr current map, i have alot of changes to do befor i think it will be halfway decent.

oooh new map :D  brilliant.

if you want a hand with it, or want anyone to check over the alpha/beta, just let us know :)

There shouldn't be a problem with water (as long as you make sure the brush is detailed (select then ctrl+m) )
I used some on trem2, but kept it out of the play area,  it could be interesting to see how the gameplay works.

ive decided to give up on the current map.. im running into too many problems with lighting and brush work..that and the whole map seams rather small (too much so) when played.

but, the current work isnt going to waste, ive learned a few things and im now starting on a new level. im going to try make the level revolve around water. general description will be a human base on a world thats surface is cover by alot of clear, shallow salt water.

id appreciate comments/ideas if any one has any

Don't continue mapping.

And show us screenshots of your work.

Island maps can be kinda tricky, cause of visibility and stuff... pick your water shader carefully...last thing you want is miles of a 4-layer water shader sucking up the framerate :)

but it could be a funky theme, so definitly worth a shot :)
