I found this today on }MG{BetaServ right before odin banned me because i discovered that he haxx and didnt want all his }MG{ buds to find out but anyways second glitch i found today

Lol, all these people thinking people hack. Its really funny, on a server today people accused me of mass driver hacking, so i played along with it. Now they think i really do hack LMAO.

Uh, we (MG Members) have been changing PIE's name to nooblerbot too, it's a joke.

At a certain point, constantly calling someone a name ceases to be funny, and begins to become insulting as the purpose for doing it becomes questionable.  Claiming now that you were joking in constantly calling Odin "haxor" and proceeding to begin calling the rest of us names is an easy cop out.

After we spec'ed him in a game and he left the server we all went to betaserv one time and on a second computer I connected as NooblerBOT to freak everyone out.. they figured out it wasn't really him in about 2 minutes when I royally failed to aimbot them.. but since then out of the blue, when i'm racking up kills, someone will change my name to NooblerBOT for me -_-...

You'll find we have very different IPs, and when it is just me, you'll unfortunately note the complete lack of aimbot..

About the glitch.. its a beta map server.. there will be glitches, hence BETA.

And all the accusations of hacking after you rack up a few kills does get old pretty quick. From now on don't harrass someone unless you already have a demo of them actually hacking in some way.

Most people keep quiet about what opinions they have during the game. It seems to me that only certain people within the Tremulous Forum communinity all band together and bash a person when they see one their own doing the same, even if they don't even know the story or backround about the person they are bashing.

Unfortunately we all don't have the time to get to know Tremulous players on a personal basis that frequently, so its complelely understandable that n00b would acuse of cheating/hacking since he was not familiar with those around them. And while you bring up the thing about getting to know people... do you actually know n00b pl0x? Did you take the liberty to get to know him before making a judgement about him? For all we know he could have simply been joking about the hacking allegatations.

I would not come into your house and begin insulting you, even jokingly.  He was in our house.  He was insulting a member.  That member took steps to stop the insults.  End of story.

People take jokes differently. Some take them seriously, some don't. I'm a pretty laid back person and if someone would joke around saying "hax" I'd just laugh it off, whether it was in my "house" or not. It really just all depends on the person, and if you can't take a joke I completely respect that not all people can :wink:

On the context of getting to know people...

It is not the admin's duty to get to know the players and try understand their kind of jokes.
No one goes around being coy with strangers in the hope of not getting beat up.

Yet PIE wanted a stranger(n00b pl0x) to somehow understand why he was joking around with the server admins?

As far as I know there was a big incident that happened with a "nooblerbot" and everyone did take that seriously enough here on the forum. If I were in n00b's shoes I'd be pretty concerned if I saw a person change there name to nooblerbot and find that the administrators on the server are doing nothing about it I'd probably do something similar. Now whether n00b knew they were joking or not will remain uncertain since we have no screenshots of the incident from either party. However, from what was said by both sides, it appears that both were joking about the same thing. If joking along with other jokers on a server  gets you banned then I believe you guys did the right thing.

For starters, PIE IS an admin on the server in question.  One of MANY that were on the server at the time (5 or 6 if I remember correctly, maybe more!)  !listplayers would have shown this.
Second, the accusations began long before the nooblerbot joke.

This is a clan server we are talking about, and everyone involved is a member or recruit except for Noob Plox.  Additionally, though we are not a skill clan, some of our members are quite good and so are accused of cheating when not on our server.  It does wear thin.

They both do compare actually. Neither n00b's party nor the admin's party had any knowledge of the other's joke. N00b wasn't completely aware of the fact that the admins were joking and the admins obviously didn't know n00b was joking.

We are not trying to create a problem, merely clear up an accusation that continued to this forum.  Yes I see the smiley face, it is ambiguous and open to interpretation.

Um, we WERE right.  Our server, our rules.  You state that we "could have", this is ambiguous.

What caveman meant, is that the common thread of jokes being misunderstood is not the important aspect of the situation. They were actually 2 seperate situations.

There were two seperate situations both relating to a joke. I have already repeatedly said you were right about whatever action you took, but by not acknowledging the other person's side of the story is only going to make you guys look worse. If this tremulous board will continue to be biased towards certain people and groups thats fine, but there should be some sort of announcement that certain people are always right and other certain people are always wrong.

Look at the top of the ramp on the left. Then the second picture is taken from on that ramp looking forwards.. There is a gap there.



Ryan.. you are grasping at straws and I have no idea why. The point you are trying to make is becoming so infinitesimal that it has since become pointless.
The situations don't compare due to grounds of simple logic in interaction and complete social dissimilarities of the parties involved. I think you are giving n00b too much credit... I have no idea why you decided to jump in this conversation anyway.
