Idea that might be useful later on
« on: June 05, 2004, 03:09:50 am »
I know Trem is now in beta stage and thus feature complete for now, but I'd like to get some discussion on this. I have an idea for a weapon that might be interesting - A Tesla gun. It would become available at stage two (Same stage as the Lucifer Cannon) after a Tesla tower has been built. What it would exactly do I'm not sure, I have multiple ideas.

Variation A: Medium ROF with a 5 - 10 degree cone of auto aiming.

Variation B; Somewhat faster with no auto aim.

Variation C; Medium ROF, No auto aim, the energy bolt spreads ala chain lightning with a smallish radius - shoot alien A, bolt appears from alien A and hits alien B, lightning stops as no other aliens are in range of the bolt.

Variation D; Medium ROF, shoots multiple bolts in random directions to make it a sort of energy shotgun.

Discuss.  :D

yea, it would be pretty cool to see that telsa/shotgun style of effect and the electricity traveling through units around it, that would be nice to see in trem.  :D

It's a neat idea but it kind of steps on the toes of the chimera's upgrade ability. How many electric attacks does one game need? And aside from the graphical attractiveness, Variations B and D are awfully similar to weapons humans already have.
