For some reason it takes out the crosshair. Add that and I'll use it.
The Balance Mod third person has been modified a bit.
- It is range limited so you cant zoom out all the way to the enemy base.
- It keeps the crosshair.
- It scales by your model size so you don't have to twiddle the range when you change classes.
There are screenshots in the balance mod thread (the crosshair is kind of hard to see though, but its there).
Also about aiming and turning. Any visual effects of lag are purely that. Quake doesnt turn your model until you turn more than so many degrees, it doesnt affect your aim. In fact all third person does, in relation to your aim is to move your view out backwards while keeping the pivot point exactly the same. Your rate of turn is the same as well.
The only effect on aiming is psychological. Because you now have a big ass Dragoon model blocking your viwe (for example) your tendency is to put yourself in "car mode" and look down at the floor. When you do this youre actualling aiming at the floor as well. You have to get used to aiming level through your goon's ass.
