I would like to ask all the FAT ASS motherforker mappers to STOP making HUGE maps with 3 humvee wide corridors. Go play aliens for a while and you will understand what am I talking about.

I would like to thank all the mappers for the good work with the large maps.

If anything, why not make a server mod that selects maps based on the number of players at the start of each game? I.e. ATCS if there are 4 players, Procyon if there are 40.

I have NOTHING against big maps (Pulse FTW), I just HATE empty HUGE pointless corridors in them (atcs alpha and hundred more).

Errrrmmmm...... Goodness Gracious! You're right! I haven't quite got the hang of this whole reading thing yet :wink:

Anyway, in that case I'm in agreement - Large empty corridors and spaces are dull. Detailed corridors (such as those of nexus6, arachnid, pulse, etc..) add allot of "beef" to a map - imagine karith with plain flat walls. So to all mappers: forget the polycount and map with unlimited detail points!

WTF is wrong with ATCSALPHA? It's an awesome map, better than ATCS because of the longer and wider corridors.

Please don't make the corridors skinnier than 2 tyrants wide, otherwise blocking will soon become a spectator sport.
And by spectators, I mean humans with chain-guns.

this is basically the whole map, one nice big parking lot for tyrrants in humvees

but hey, at least its tall, so tyrrants can fly up and hide there, not to mention that ordinary human model looks like a leprechaun next to the scelets on this map

Im talking about the scale. If you are fat (or american, which is kinda tautology by itselfe) you make everything bigger to accommodate your fat ass. You end up with ATCS-Alpha human base being able to fit ~20 tyrrants attacking at once, or ~20 BS-chain humans standing one next to each other and shooting same target.

The last two pictures shouldn't count.  It wasn't originally even intended for Tremulous (and plays horribly).  

As for the first two, meh.

I think I prefer 4 lane highway halls to the barely 1 tyrant wide halls anyways.

I agree with rasz. Most custom maps I've seen don't really addapt fine for Trem gameplay limitations. If not cause of failing to prevent jetpack abuse and/or egg spamming, cause of allowing unbreakable camping bases, or cause of not thinking enough architecture with a gameplay based point of view.

Wide is a tactical choice, too bad most mappers just suck at tactics. That's why people should fucking alpha before going into beta.

If anyone bothers to look at the map rotation section of the manual, then you would notice that you can indeed script that.
