I think a flashlight would be awsome for the humans.
Some level are too dark to see in some places.
I think it should be worth 30c and it should be like the jetpack but on the right sholder. If you guys did that this game would be alot more cooler! 8)

flashlights dont work real well on the q3 engine (so ive heard)... i belive this is one of the reasons q3 gloom choose to move the game to a diffrent engine (not sure, some can confirm this for me?)

though i may be out of date... i havent check the RxN forums in a lonnng time

Im sure theres a way to do this.
A helmet might be albe to show were aliens are but what they dont do is light up an area. And aliens should have a new class. A creeper would be a cool name for it, it would have a camo ability so it can go invisable.

If levels are too dark for you then turn up your brightness. This isn't gloom, there's no restriction. Flashlights can be done in Quake 3 but they're an ugly hack and totally unnecessary here.

STILL!

When you turn up your brightness everything looks bad!
Besides, the main idea for the flashlight would be to see the dark and cloaked creepers (thats if people like the creeper idea).
If you dont like flashlight then you should do like how the Invasion mod did, Have some night vision goggels.

But you have to admit the Creeper idea is awsome. 8)

We people tell you that flashlights don't work, you should listen!

The lighting in q3 is multiplacative (sp?) instead of additive. That means that a dark sport being lit by a dynamic light will still be dark. 0 * 2371982731 = 0. Also, dynamic lights are cilindrical and not a sphere iirc. So a flashlight would look really stupid.

The creeper should only be seen when Humans have NV on. What do you think? :-?

My sisters bf had came up with a sweet idea!!

to counter the Creeper's ability to go invisable, the humans should have THERMAL GOGGELS!!!!!! :)  
and for the aleins to counter that would be a lower body heat ability.

Does this sound good?

ok eh...

while suggestions are always welcome...  I should mention we're nearing the end of the beta testing stage (not long now before a release) so at the moment we're happy with the classes/items...

though future updates could always have funky new things.  :)
