Humans really run out of ammo too soon. So I came up with this:

The first few clips for hummies are free, if they want more they'll have to buy additional clips. This means that for some extra bucks you could actually fight your way to the alien base and still be able to shoot up some stuff.

Would these extra clips (or presumably in the case of weapons like the chaingun, heightened capacity) be refillable for free or would you have to keep buying them after using them? I don't really like the idea of spending credits on consumable items you might not get any use out of.

Also, and I know I've suggested this twice before, but what would everyone think of the battery pack slowly regenerating ammo instead of just boosting capacity? It would differentiate it from whatever solution is decided on for boosting non-energy weapon ammo capacity and I, at least, find regeneration a fun concept. Thoughts?

One more thing: Anyone else think it might be great if humans could share ammo? Think of one person stocking up and being an "ammo mule" for an attack group, or buying a battery pack and a shotgun to cover the guy with the lucifer cannon and refill his ammo when needed, or just handing over a clip to a desperate teammate while you're both chased back to your base by a dragoon. Teamwork is fun.
