alright, i keep getting the error message misstyped cd key when i try to join the server, now i know that this is part of IDs anti-piracy stuff but i know i have a valid key, having bought the game.  i want to play on todays test but i cant get past this. can anyone help or is there nothing i can do?

btw i have tried posting on other sites and stuff as well as google-ing, but all i get are things describing the problem, no solutions, or people saying nothing can be done

does it say "misstyped" when u type in the text or when you try to connect to a server?

when i try to join the server..
it goes to the awaiting connection screen, "awaiting connection...1" and then i get a 'misstyped cd key' warning under the awaiting connection text, which now has a 2..and then a 3 (and so on). when i look at the counsol it spams 'mistyped cd key?' every few seconds (or when every the awaiting connection number changes)

this happened once befor, but it went away in an hour.. this time its lasted all week (from when i tried to join on monday)

Try deleting the q3key file in all the the baseq3 and mod dirs.

still happens... deleted then re-initalized q3, put the key in again and i was back to where i started

Ok, I had it when I tried connecting to r-1.ch

We have a new server. It worked then.
