So, i thought i might pick up gtkradiant and try to make a map.
This is my first map ever.

The map's name is going to be 'Crash' since it spins about an abandoned alien- ridden spaceship crashing into a building (the aliens start in the ruined spaceship).

The humans are scrambled to keep away the alien threat from mother earth, and build a bunker made of scrap metal and stuff (or the bunker allready was there, or it isnt a real bunker at all, who cares?)

All the screenies are from the same room, except from the last one which is from a neighbouring hallway.

I'll scan in the layout scetches for the map sometime soon also.

I would appreciate feedback, and if i am using someone's textures and they dont want me to, just tell me.

looks blocky, needs more details/style/lighting, screens should be taken from in game.

Yeah, it's blocky, and needs more details to fill all that wall.
As to making screens from ingame... Wll, i have not gotten around to the compiling buisiness and all yet.
I'll probably do something for the huge human base room to make it look less 'square'.

Okay, i just had a real look at the pro maps; arachnid and Nexus, niveus and all those, and it just hit me over the head that i cannot complete a map as big as crash with my current skill in gtkradiant. So it will be put to a rest while i make some smaller maps for learning.

Edit: i am sorry i made this unnecesary topic, you may let it fall to the bottom of the list.

start small - make things work first - optimize
hmm this was for coding but imho applies to mapping too
