i seem to have a problem where i download a map like ancient remains, and i get a folder after i un-zip it, instead of a regular .pk3 file, why does this happen? (im on a mac)

Exact Same Problem.
I'm on a mac too and ancient remains wont work for me.

I dont get it....I saved it to disk and unzipped it and it was a folder...

A .pk3 is just a renamed zip file, software that scans the content of the file can get seriously confused about this.
Ancient Remains works fine. The file on dasprid's site is the .pk3 file so you just need to copy it to your base map.

Remember, the map name is ancient_remains_1-0.

rename it to to pk3 or bsp and the file turns to bsp, or if u typed pk3 its turns to pk3.

p.s. when i play in ancient remains,say error cant find maps/ancient_remains_1-0.bsp pising me off.

Download the file and put it in base. That is all you need to do.

I'm having the same problem. I downloaded the file and it came as a winrar archive named "Tremulous" I was like wtf and I changed it to map-ancient_remains-1-0 and it didnt work so i changed it to ancient_remains-1-0.pk3 and it still didnt work. So I just decided to give up on the map.

I got it.

Just Save to Disk in the Base folder and dont unzip it

Works like a charm.
