A_Total_noob you give me hope. Surely with 2GHz Core2Duo & 1GB of RAM, I should be able to run this game. I think I have about 32MB of video memory (less?). I believe it's 64MB of RAM, shared with the CPU, that the GMA950 gets.
Now here's my question. Is Tremulous any good? How do you like the stages and evolution and buying and building? Is it deep, or cumbersome? Are there servers out there worth playing? It sounds a lot better than a TeamFortress sniper-fest. Is there an active Trem community? What mods should I get? What other Trem sites are good? Anybody here also play Sauerbraten? What's a good servers for n00bs? Should I build, repair or just kill stuff? Human or alien? Favorite artifact/activity in-game?
Thanks.

newer than you probably
Ptsh-
your computer should floor this game !
64MB is not earth shattering,
however, you processor and RAM should make for this.
The game will definately run on NORMAL graphics settings (I run not on FAST, but on FASTEST  ) at around 50FPS.
Still, it could be 100FPS.
I have no idea.
But im pretty sure you can run the game on atleast HIGH @ 40FPS.
Try it out, and fiddle with the quality settings (Set up a LAN game, so no one can bother you)
Oh, and Tremulous if you join a fun server (There are quite a few), can be really enjoyable.
Trust me, its seriously fun to saw through 4 tyrants in a row with a Painsaw.
Here are three things should be aware of though:
a. For the first 2 weeks, the game WILL be very frustrating.
You probably will not be able to kill much, and you will find yourself constantly dying.
After you get used to the game, and know your Goon from your Granger, and your Luci from your Lasgun, you should start finding it very enjoyable.
b. The more expensive weapons are not necessarily superior.
Eg: A 250 cred Lasgun is a very effective weapon for defending the base as opposed to a 450 cred Flamer, or 600 cred Lucifer Cannon, which are almost useless.
c. You will frequencly find your team being called 'Campers'.
Do not pay attention to this.
These are noobs who call you campers are only attempting to mask their own inadequacies.

Also, try to pay attention to how experienced players build,
then put it into practice yourself.
Oh, and yeah, building is fun
