What's new in the past couple months?
« on: January 31, 2007, 12:27:50 am »
Hey, been at least 2 months, probly more like 3, since I got bored of Trem and got back into playing Age of Mythology. After that my birthday came round and I got a 360, so I haven't been doing much PC gaming lately :P

But now, after installing Ubuntu Edgy, I noticed Trem on the list of games and installed it.

Anything interesting happen while I was gone? I noticed the new site layout, and the soon-to-be new map (omg, outdoor map). Anything else?

...no?

Ok, see you guys in another 3 months.

>_> but seriously, I miss my mouse and keyboard for FPS games, i'll be playing the occasional trem game again

Edit: And also, what's Trem 1.2 gonna introduce?

Not a huge amount. I discovered I can still inflict a reign of terror on servers (but only with added lag). Oh and we've had lots of idiots come (and some have gone too).

Might be a couple new maps.

The various mods have made some progress too, I think.

Emerald returned for a game last night, but left again and may not return for a long while. Damn high school.

What else has happened recently, let me think about stuff that I myself care about.
2 Tremulous wiki's have risen.
tremulous.info has fallen.
Balance mod(new) and Tremx keep trying to out-do each-other.
Several new custom maps have come out/updated, including: Thermal (final), Ancient Remains (Final), Procyon (Final), Highrise (Beta 6), some previews of maps to come, and a bunch of unplayable/incomplete/obscure maps.
EDIT: Oh, and 1.2 is still in development.
I'm playing Tremulous on a Mac!

Sorry, fixed.
Also, Betas are usually external, i.e. public.
Incomplete and internal test versions and are usually called Alphas.
If you don't let anyone in on the Beta, then is really an Alpha.

sweet.

currently I'm trying to get stupid ATI drivers running on ubuntu, a terrible experience as always. once that's done, i can play.

What's 1.2 going to introduce? Anything other than balancing?

Wrong. Alpha means, not all features are included yet. Beta means, something is nearly done, but still buggy. Final is that, what you release. However, all my beta versions were tested by 10 peeps.
