On my main comp I have OpenBSD and windows xp (which I only use for my fpga tools, yes running windows actually beats using alien on an rpm) and on an older laptop I am running Syllable, Plan 9, ReactOS, PCBSD, can boot into the Haiku kernel, and I'm planning on sticking OpenDarwin and MenuetOS on there soon; gotta love those extended partitions.

Really? 'Cause I was under the impression that XP was just a few extentions to DOS which was bought as a crappy (and most likely illegal, not sure on the law at the time) clone of C/PM, which was by standards at the time horrible, UNIX blew it out of the water.

Don't know where I got that notion.

Anyways BeOS was BY FAR the best operating system ever made, to bad palm had to come in and destroy it, I hope they burn for doing that (anybody up for a little arson at the palm headquarters?).

I use Windows XP, but I also have a Mac and a Linux :wink:

And boy, would my life be easier.  I'm in  XP now, but I use TortoiseSVN, Apache, Tremulous, Nexuiz, Firefox, OpenOffice, the GIMP, Blender, Evolution, Azereus, Inkscape, Audacity, Ethereal....  (on and on and on)

Basically, when I migrate, the only thing that'll change will be the kernel, GUI, media player, and ease of use ;)  FEBE will take care of my 20 FF extensions.

I hate not having a regular functioning Linux bash.  Well, I have a triple boot system, but none recognize my ATI card but Windows...  And I want Ubuntu because Envy will automatically recognize the card.

When it comes to problems, I don't know where Microsoft ends and Cox begins.  Apache, Trem server, and such can't escape, even though I put a hole in my router, and Windows firewall has them approved, etc.  ethana2@gmail.com- help would be nice, I guess.  Mainly with Windows IP and ports stuff, though.

Mind you, Linux is also vaguely mac-like...

Li..Lin..Li...Linu? Linux? Whew. That's a tongue twister right there.  Not only do I use linux, I abuse it.  A good OS is measured by how often you can break it until it's fixed, instead of it breaking on you when it's fixed.

I love it! Very nice. Those of you who swear by Winblows should be taken out back and shot. Ubuntu rox... *Nix FTW.

I dual boot Windows XP, and Ubuntu 7.04. I have a problem with Ubuntu though, it will never start up, and is just wasting harddrive space. Says I have to mount a drive or something.

My laptop runs windows 95, doesnt even have a CD drive :)  thats when you use to get your OS on like 20 floppies, but anyways.

Anyone know how to mount a hard drive in Ubuntu? I would love to ditch XP and have been trying to for about 3 months now.

i use Winodws XP for my old PC and for my new PC Vista  :P it's a bit buggy atm.
