Better Banning?
« on: February 02, 2007, 12:06:44 pm »
Hi everyone.

I have recently started my own server and it's going good, except there are the occasional trouble makers, of course.

Here's my problem, banning, when i ban those trouble-makers, they can just get a new IP and rejoin the server to escape the ban. GUID and name bans are useless too, as they can be changed easily.

Is there a type of ban i am not aware of which can solve this problem? I have been told by several server regulars that it is, so i decided to ask here.

Thank you.
I'm a Mexican who likes eating tacos and nachos. Are you?

Set your firewall to block any traffic from that noob's subnet. He won't come back anytime soon. If he does, just edit the firewall rule and add his new subnet 8)
If my answer to your problem doesn't seem helpful, it means I won't help you until you show some effort to fix your problem yourself!

And if that doesn't work, set your firewall to block any trafic not from 127.0.0.1 THAT will teach them.

Use the search and find out that better banning is impossible.
