Can't see server list behind an evil router
« on: February 09, 2007, 10:25:04 am »
I can't see the server list inside the game, and I can't join any game. But under Day of Defeat (or any Half Life Mod), I can see server list and play. D:

I have selected the right option (source internet, get server list, refresh), but it did not work :( ! I have also tried to connect directly trought an IP, but it did not work too...

I think that if I can use the port of Day of Defeat, I've some chance to see the server list, but I do not know how to change the port used by Tremulous...

Can you help me ?

Getting the list and joining a server only require an outgoing connection, most routers do not filer these.
The most probably cause is a software fire wall that is not allowing tremulous to connect to the internet.

I tested today to be sure : it's not a problem of firewall, I've desactivated the XP firewall, and I've not any other firewall...

I'm in a student room, this can explain that the router is so drastic. I think I really need to use the same port that Day of Defeat. How can I change the port used by Tremulous ?

You cant change the port, the server gets to choose.

try doing /connect 66.92.134.200:30720 from the console, and if it connects then the server list can be worked around, and you should be fine. If it wont then I'm all out of ideas.

I tried to configure TREMULOUS a bit, with the help of these post :

But it did not work, you may have right.
