The  engine that Tremulous uses is written in C. You need to be conversant in C to be able to modify or extend the engine.

treminator

I code mah shit in C. Holla! But I code shiznit in python thats off tha hook yo. If you can does a crossword puzzle, you can code paper'd up.

TinMan

Python FTW! lol
If you learn any basic stuff then you can comprehend a lot of C and can modify it, especially then you're learning by example, with the icculus quake 3 engine right there for you hands on.
Linux: ~/.tremulous/base/
Mac: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Tremulous/base/

Download the tremulous source code.
If it looks like gibberish to you, then hard luck.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

I'm disappointed that people's past actions have forced me to state what should be obvious.
I am not a dev.  Nothing I say counts for anything.

and were do i download it at???

David

Open your eyes.
When you install tremulous there is an option for the source.
You can re-run the installer and just add the source code.

Or go to the download page.

Or you can search the forum for the SVN link, I'm pretty sure someone's posted it before.
If you're new to "coding" as you put it, then I'd suggest you start tackling projects more suitable to your level...

Start here, http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial/c/lesson1.html then move on.
