What about game upgrade

Hello.
Im old fan of this game.
Why isnt created Tremulous 2 with Unity or Unreal engine or anything ?
Scripting is fast, migrate everything in HD, add some nice things, horrific insects, crazy guns,  put on Steam.
I guess it would be fun, quick and rewarding some € for further updates.
What's your opinion ?
