I had a thought for humans to have a med pack. Now I know what you're saying, "But Terror, med packs ruined gloom!" well my idea for a med pack is a bit different. Instead of everyone carrying around a usable medicine unit, which only heals the wearer for a certain amount of health, my idea of a med  pack would replace a Battery/Jet Pack and would only be used to heal others or healing thyself (smirk) while healing others. This would promote humans sticking together, which is where humans excel, and also add a new "class" of human.

The medpack would also replace or augment those lame poison curing stimpacks, because no one really buys or uses them. Other balance issues can surely be adressed if a med pack is put into play i.e. make it really expensive, limited in use, or available in stage 3 only so as not disturb the lower stage balance but help with those rampaging Tyrants :)

I'm sure the game developers (Timbo) could work it in effectively somehow without offsetting things too much.

I would suggest to include the med pack as an alternative to Rifle and Construction kit. You can choose it before spawning and you could also buy an Advanced med pack which heals faster. Perhaps a medic should be awarded with some credits when healing his team mates. Otherwise, probably nobody would become a medic.

Although I like the idea of a med pack replacing a weapon or constuction kit, I think the "medic" would need some sort of method of defending himself aside from those lame blasters :| Maybe this new "medic gun" could open a variety of possibilties.

Just borrowing from TF, humans could enter the Aliens domain of biological warfare. Maybe the weapon could be a disease spreader, a bio marker that clearly illuminates nearby aliens, or even some sort of radiation field that nullifies alien regeneration. The radiation field would dramtically alter aliens boldness as they would have to go back to their booster/base/overmind for a radiation cure instead of hiding nearby to continue the onslaught.

Ooooo I like these ideas, especially the whole radiation idea that weakens alien regeneration. Alien regeneration is the #1 reason why aliens can endure prolonged offensive strikes, whereas humans have to continually return to base for heals as well as ammo.

A marine with a medic kit could handle both of these tasks, healing other marines in the field and debuffing aliens regeneration. If this "medical beam" or whatever it would be called could do some sort of menial damage to aliens as well, to the point where at least a Dretch could be handled without too much trouble, Id be all for it.
