GTK-Radiant cant find notex
« on: February 24, 2007, 06:46:46 pm »
i installed radiant 1.2 did everyting that crapy guide sayed but then when i open it says that it cant find the notex (texture) when i open the "common spog.pk3" with rar instead of pk3 then i see textures/radiant/notex.tga.

i tink that i placed the common files at the wrong place or radiant is looking at the wrong place.
i extracted it to c:\games\tremulous\base.
what could i do wrong ?? please help ppl

check the .game file and make sure you point all the paths in the right way. After that check that you loaded tremulous in the game menu and not another game. All these would cause it to search in the wrong location.

trem.txt? i assume you saved it as .game with show hidden extensions on. Make sure it's not .txt. It will only read data from .game.

stop saying that you sayd the same at my topic a week befor, i saved it as .game really sure if i didnt it would not apear in that dropdownlist for switching games.
i showed this to let you see what i got the the trem.game file cuz it could be wrong...

it cant find the notex where could i chnge the path or put the
common spog/tuxtures folder to?
and DONT COME WITH THAT CRAP GUIDE OF THAT TREMMAPING.PBWIKI
cuz that says i need to set it in tremulous/base amnd when i do that...
it just searches wrong where can i CHANGE THE PATH?

EDIT/  i have show hidden tings on.

My radiant log contains the following:
Code: [Select]

Scanning for game description files: /opt/gtkradiant-123/games/
....
Loaded Texture: "/opt/gtkradiant-123/bitmaps/notex.bmp"
....

Please consult your radiant log file. It will probably tell you exactly what is wrong.

Updated files to add Tremulous support to GtKRadiant: http://warrior.memebot.com/gtk/trem-gtk-files.zip (default_build_menu.xml, game.xlink, default_shaderlist.txt, entities.def and trem.game; this zip file should be extracted to the GtkRadiant 1.5.0 folder) and: http://warrior.memebot.com/gtk/common_files.zip (common-spog.pk3, common.shader, entities.def, shaderlist.txt; this zip file should be extracted to the tremulous/base folder).

I rebooted to XP and opened this thread in firefox. I even was too lazy to read the wiki, so I basicly followed Warrior's wise words:

- I installed Tremulous in C:\Games\Tremulous, and copied tjws exe into it
- I installed GtkRadiant-1.5.0-RC1.msi
- I download the zip files from Warrior' post
- Unzipped trem-gtk-files.zip to C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant 1.5.0
- Unzipped common_files.zip to C:\Games\Tremulous\base
- I opened C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant 1.5.0\games\trem.game
in notepad and changed the line with enginepath_win32 to
   enginepath_win32="C:/Games/Tremulous/"
- I made a small testroom, put it in
C:\Games\Tremulous\base\maps
and textures in
C:\Games\Tremulous\base\textures\test
and build it from the build menu

Works fine

Note: I recommend you using the Gtk release from 16-December as it don't have some new bugs from the RC1. Also, don't forget to set the variable "enginepath_win32" according to your Tremulous installation.
