WHY would this happen?
« on: February 25, 2007, 05:03:40 pm »
yester i was playin remulous, and suddenly for no reason someone requested to kick me....a few players responded with "?" or "why" or "what did he do?" but most of them went ahead and said yes. i dont curse, i dont spam, all i do is follow orders. plus, im not that good of a player. is this just spam? or did i so something wrong?

p.s. i has said the previous map was horrible. would that make them hate me enough to kick me?

The problem is, idiots exist. I come across them everyday.
If a idiot votes to kick you, other idiots will follow even if not given a reason, because quite simply...fools hunt in packs.
Its a lot like with sheep...

Dont take it personally
Hell, its possible this voter accidentally voted for you instead of someone else by accidentally double clicking on your name.
lawl, people still play Tremulous ?

Yeah don't take votekicks personnally.... The tremulous community is full of retards(naturally there are many good players as well).
Standard "reasons" for votekick: they accidentally chose you instead of a deconner, you are better/worse then them, you have higher/ lower ping then them, you said something in the wrong language (polish takeovers of server:P), they need to starts a vote kick so they can decon and disrupt gameplay without being voted out right away, you get under the feet of a tyrant(known as blocking), you are playing with the name unnamed player, you die too often? and the list goes on....

Play on servers with admins. KOCOUR-CZ admins follow these rules for votekicks:
- if the vote caller doesn't say a reason before the vote is finished, !cancelvote
- if he doesn't say it even after the vote has been cancelled, !kick him.
If my answer to your problem doesn't seem helpful, it means I won't help you until you show some effort to fix your problem yourself!

Sst even has it mandatory that a reason be provided with a vote, so the person MUST use /callvote kick noob1 he is a noob, and our admins are under instructions to cancel all votes with unsatisfactory reasons.

I was just kicked for tk,decon, noob. I destroyed no structures, no tks, and died twice and killed 2 aliens. This was my first time playing and was not even allowed in long enough to try to get the feel for things.  :(

Forgot to say that the game seems real fun, cant wait to get into it more.

:) Don't worry about it... Just find a new server and carry on. Also make sure you change your name from unnamed player to something else

vote kicks happen.  I've seen people just keep calling vote kicks on various people for no reason.  It is a form of griefing and it sucks when no admin is on.  If it happens on a server you frequent, let an admin know on the server's forums/irc or at a time when an admin is on the server.  It may be advantageous to make you an admin if you are on at a time when few/no admins are on.

There was a polish clan pulling that crap on my server.  I joined (not as tuple) and waited for them to call a kickvote on me, which they did cause they are assholes.  As I had previously given them a warning about this behavior, I promptly banned them.  If they want to kick people for no reason other than they want the server to themselves, they can go get their own damn server.

Unfortunately, there are those who will do this.  Ignore them and remember that there are lots of other servers out there.

No.  But it's important to remember that even Jesus would get kicked while playing tremulous.  What's even more important (on your part) is to remember WWJD?  That's right, what would Jesus do?  Well, he would probably thank them all very nicely for the game just before "Vote passed" ran across the console.  Then, he would port scan the server IP and run an ssh rlogin attack or other hax!  That's right, Jesus would do that. Why? I know since Jesus told me.  You see, Jesus is a unix admin at a nearby college and he moonlights for computer hardware cash on the weekend by cutting my lawn and trimming my hedges.  He even once asked me in some funny talk, "hey amigo! donde esta su hermana?" I don't know what it means, but I really love that Jesus guy.  Just don't kick him if you know what's good for ya.

lol
also, what others said. And if you get kicked for no reason, who cares? Now you know that that server is stupid and idiotic. Just go to new servers and voila!~

Yeah, that's a common theme on a lot of servers.  You know how many times I got kicked or banned on SST for using so called "mods" (or whatever the fruit loops that's supposed to mean).

I got tired of fighting it, so I just jam to Finnish metal bands now while I play.  I can't even hear dretchs jumping behind me or even my own shots hitting something.  And my frame rates fall through the floor too. It's a fair trade off.  I can play on servers now cuz I r teh suckage! And thats the ways they likes it! And so do Ize! Finnish death metal ftw!
