Ingame music in Tremulous?

I personally don't think Tremulous needs ingame music. That way you can hear a alien coming at you. I also think the menu-music must be removed. I know, you can put music sound all the way down(don't know why, because there is no music accept the music in the menu) but sometimes it just plays, even if you said Tremulous to quit the music.

Idea: maybe implement a Tremradio-Player in Tremulous 1.2, so you can play Tremradio in Tremulous :D. (maybe it is just my computer but if I try to play Tremradio in Winamp and then open Tremulous, all the sound goes to the right box, really annoying :(, I can fix this by moving the soundballance bar a bit and then move it back to the middle, then alt-enter back to fullscreen Tremulous. Somboddy know how to fix this?)

If people want music, then they can play there own.
Now if there was some king of build in media player, which could be controlled with binds.....
Oh, wait.... I ALREADY GOT THAT!

I think there should be, but at a low volume so you can still hear it, but hear everything else normally.

I run my music in the background and it's fine. Internet radio would lag too much for some people, and then a built-in media player would bring up mp3/ogg controversy.
Find a media player that doesn't suck.
Code: [Select]
Linux: ~/.tremulous/base/
Mac: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Tremulous/base/
Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous\base\

Here's a step by step howto:
1) Open your cup holder^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^HDVD drive
2) insert your favourite music CD
3) Close your DVD drive
4) Pres the play button
5) Correct the volume setting
If my answer to your problem doesn't seem helpful, it means I won't help you until you show some effort to fix your problem yourself!
1.2.0 release's been delayed for 5:48:00 already because of stupid questions.

Yes, do it.  I'd like the ingame music to be hotkeyed to the 1.2 voice chat system though.  For example,

I want to be able to hit v613 (die) just before I turn a corner chasing a bleeding tyrant with my naked hum MG, and then some metal rift from Iron Maiden's trooper fades in "You take my life but I'll take yours too. You'll slash my face but I'll run you through."

Well, you get the idea.  Get cracking on it for 1.3 fellas.

I don't think Trem needs ingame music. Most people'll just turn it off anyways, and play with music of their choosing, or none at all. But I think the menu music should stay. It sets a mood.

However, I'm all for shooting dretches to Deltron 3030 :P If the game had a soundtrack, I'd pick that :)

I think tremulous would be better with music :] Good music helps you focus more on the game, just look at the music which soldat has, it is perfectly matched for that game :battlesuit:
