You beat me to saying that...we should make the armoury a bunker that hummies can enter that spams tesla and luci blasts when an alien gets close

I don't see what it would improve, human bases already behave exactly like that in most games :)

You want a Force-field generator?
Have a Tesla with 0 damage, short range (~200), and crazy high knock-back.
Unfortunately, it has 50 hp, to compensate for its melee invincibility.

To fix the Hovel, make it have double hp when it has a Granger inside.
Hard, crunchy outside, but a creamy Granger filling.
