strange server list
« on: March 19, 2007, 12:57:31 pm »
I've been having this trouble some time now, and I don't know how to fix it. When I press the new list button, I don't always get all the servers, sometimes -1, sometimes 43 sometimes 149.
When I have the full server list, getting all the servers on the list is not possible, sometimes I don't even get any servers. I'm on linux, ubuntu, somehow this only seems to affect it, and not my windows machines. Any solution to this? And is this a known problem?

Yor net connection is buggerd.
-1 means it couldnt get the master server.
and only getting a few servers means your ping to the others was too high.

Drop down the console when you see this happen and read the message it has there.  If the message doesn't make sense, tell us what it says.

rdizzle, I don't use dialup >_<

raytray25, will try when I get home :p at school

David, then it would be specific to my linux box, and seeing that linux handles network packages faster than windows it's quite weird that the problem only affects my linux machine, I don't know if it could be the hardware. The windows machines have better hardware

You could try using qstat, see if that works when the tremulous list doesn't.
Also, when it does work, add some servers to your favourites list, and then see if they still work when the list is not.

Um, that really depends on a lot of things.  Is this linux box using wireless, for instance.  You could also have misconfigured or incorrect NIC drivers which may still work, but suboptimally.

8 servers listed in browser with 12 players.
