Save your insults for the mirror and find me a better one!

This is what it looks like:
As you can see, you can still use it without a C:\ partition.

If you are still suspicious, then open the archive with winrar or winace to verify the files (may damage archive.)

UPDATE (24 hours after previous):
New look

Same maps, same mirror, different look.

Made with a better program. DOWNLOAD HERE!

You should not distribute or download executable files.  No offense, and the idea is good, but encouraging people to execute an unknown executable it NOT recommended.  Seeing as you just created a user for this (it seems) makes it doubly suspect.  You should submit the code and/or the whole thing to someone respected and trusted within the trem community for review PRIOR to distributing it.

Infact, you should never download and run executables from a source you don't trust and/or know.

I'd recommend a zip file that, when unzipped in C:\ unzips to the base directory.

You can understand why creating an account and immediately posting an executable would be suspect at best, I hope.  Some of us MGers are trying to verify it as clear of viruses at least, but it will take a while as the host is throttling at abut 100Kbps it seems, assuming we have the patience to wait for it :P

your last response assumes you would knowingly do it.  For a windows user to execute this, they would not only have to trust the you would not knowingly upload a virus, but trust that
a: You are running anti-virus software
b: It is up to date
c: The download host effectively scans files
d: The download host cannot have infected it

That's quite a string of trust you require of us.

Getting pissed at us for taking steps against common internet problems is unnecessary.  I am not your next door neighbor.  I am not your brother/sister.  I don't know you and you don't know me.  I have access to pipes that would allow me to upload 330 MB in about 2 minutes (faster if the host can handle it), I have no idea if you do or don't.  I appreciate what you have done, but I also feel the need to help protect the larger tremulous community should this not be what it seems.  I have no way of knowing if it is what it seems without verifying, which I am in the process of doing.

As a member of the tremulous community, I hope you realize that in trying to protect it, we are trying to protect you as well.  If not here, in other ways.

We are not enemies.

Alright, I scanned it with clamav, ran it and then scanned my wine install.
All clear from me :)

I do have a small suggestion though.  Don't include the data file and the default maps in the future (should you decide to update it :) ).  It will make it a bit smaller.

Good idea I might add.  It makes it easier for new people to install maps.

Thank you, finally somone gets it. Yeah the default maps were an accident, as well as the data file.

What would you suggest? Thats the best I could find that allows you to keep files more than 2 days, other than rapid share...

Excuse my anger, I completely understand that you have to take every precaution necessary to prevent bad publicity or something worse.
