Tremulous.App Non Backported
« on: March 27, 2007, 01:16:30 am »
I need a Tremulous.app (Mac Application) non-backported for my server, and would LOVE for it to include all of the features of Risujin's backported one, which works, just isn't compatible with my server. I don't need ALL of the features, but would Like for it to include at the very least the sort by ping feature.

You can't use modified vms-1.1.0.pk3 on pure 1.1.0 server. UI stuff is inside vms-1.1.0.pk3, not in the executable.

Are you sure this is what you want? This client won't run with the usual pk3s, so I hope you know what you're doing.

Well, I'm trusting you on this point: here is the client I compiled for risujin but with the backporting patch reversed

If this is not what you meant (and I suspect it may not be) tell me and I'll see what else I can do.

You are probably correct in saying this, I'm not entirely sure what I need. The reason I ask this of you is because when I tried to run my server with Risujins Backported 911 client, it wasn't compatible. I reinstalled tremulous and my server works now. I just need a client that works with my server.

What you want to do is to replace cgame.qvm and ui.qvm with SVN ones. That also requires SVN game.qvm, tremded and client executable. The old QVM files are in base/vms-1.1.0.pk3. However, that will work only on your own server and you'll have to use the backport client to connect to 1.1.0 servers.

Also make sure you DO NOT install the SVN stuff into your base directory and that you run SVN tremded and client with the right fs_game (eg. `tremulous-svn +set fs_game svn` if the SVN QVMs are in svn directory).

Step #1: Download snapshot of svn://svn.icculus.org/tremulous/trunk using whatever Subversion client you like.
Step #2: Compile it
