Tremulous in Belgian Gaming magazine
« on: April 04, 2007, 06:46:30 pm »
Yesterday, a friend of mine mentioned a small Tremulous article in the largest gaming magazine here. So, I went out to buy the april issue and made picture of it. The article is in Dutch, a basic English translation can be found below.

Basic translation:
Tremulous is a standalone mod. This means you can play this mod
without the need for an orginal version of a game. The attentive reader has already noticed a standalone mod is essentialy the same as a free game, and free is a word every mod-fan loves, especially when it concerns a quality mod like Tremulous. Tremulous is a First Person shooter but contains a few RTS-elements to diversify gameplay. Players can choose to fight on the side of the aliens or the humans. The RTS-elements enable players to build (+/-)sixteen kinds of buildings, each with a distinct function. There are structures to defend your base or regenerate your health. The most important buildings are the spawns, which you can use to spawn troops at strategic locations. Adding to the fun is the distinction in gameplay between aliens and humans. Aliens can crawl on the walls and ceilings and are able to evolve into a new, stronger class when they are able to kill a human. On the other hand, humans earn credits for every alien kill they make, and can buy new weapons and upgrades for the marine. Intens, beautiful and completely free... no reason not to try it!
