I have been playing Tremulous for about two-three weeks. Doesn't take too long to get the hang of it though! After logging hours on hours playing.. I wanted to put some meaning into it. Get to know people. You know?
As I read on another "advertising myself" thread... it seems some clans are rather selective of who they include. Why so competitive? I don't know! Hopefully I can make the cut... so allow me to "advertise" myself...
Right, two/three weeks of playing tremulous. My favourite faction are the humans. That's right, favoUrite! Canadian, bitch! er, I mean, eh? I am pretty lousy with anything but a dretch so only count me on being a granger with aliens... I do make great eggs with spam.
How good am I with a human.. hmm.. well probably not that great. I mean, some games I can pull off 40+ kills but I usually sit around 20-30. Dretches are probably the most unpredictable alien to fight.. if they are farther away and don't jump around a lot they are toast. However, up close, it is hard to put the cursor on them. I can take on a tyrant which I think is a good feat... I have pulsed them, chainned them, sniped them (with help), and even flammed them. Most times though, depending on the player, the tyrant gets the better of me
I'll use any weapon.. I am relatively accurate with a mass driver and recently learned to use a pulse rifle effectively... the pulse rifle is probably my favourite weapon now. Depending on the state of the aliens I will usually take light armor+helm+battery pack over a bsuit. If I do get a bsuit I always order it with a chain. Chainsuits right?
When I say "get involved" I mean to actually be part of a community. Like I said.. meaning to the game. So any clan forum I would be proud to be active on... and anything else clanny (haha) I would contribute to. In matter of fact I am a web developer... X/HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and some Javascript. For whatever reason I also know some Python and a tiny bit of C... as far as python goes, web-related, PHP overrules it as I know it better. So yeah.. if the clan needs a website I can do that. Graphically I have some photoshop experience but don't count on much professionalism, heheh. Backend things for a website obviously, I can do.
I think my bit of human-team skill, community involvement attitude, and web dev skills are what make me a good candidate to be in a clan. At least, I hope it is enough to make the cut... if I have to play on some "try out" server that'd be no problem. Suit me up with a rifle and throw the dretches at me.. bring it on.
